Merle & Kurt

Merle tell us more about their Romantic Slipperfields Wedding :

We wanted an intimate, special, happy and romantic day celebrating the greatest gift, love. We only invited our closest family and friends. Black and red were the order of the day, I even incorporated it in my wedding dress and shoes! We wanted the day to be "us" and it was, right down to the hand-written vows and confetti showering us after the ceremony which consisted of all the flowers Kurt had given me over the course of our 2 years and 4 months together. Seeing Kurt with tears running freely down his face as I came down the aisle clutching my dad's arm, was one of the highlights for me. The clouds gathered above but slowed their pace long enough to allow us some beautiful pasture and mountain-type photos after the ceremony, some cows even got involved! As we returned to the reception room filled to the brim with candles, red, black and white lanterns and our nearest and dearest, the heavens opened and brought freshness, coziness and blessings from above. It was one of the most magical days of our lives.

Why we chose Slipperfields:
We wanted a small wedding (50 people), so we were looking for a beautiful, small, cosy chapel where we could have the ceremony and a place for a reception close by where we could all sit around one table. We were mostly directed towards conference venues and that was not what we had in mind at all. I came across the Slipperfields website and emailed Jana to see what the options were. They were in the process of building a small chapel which would make the original chapel a smaller wedding venue. It sounded perfect! My then-fiance' and I paid Slipperfields a visit one afternoon and fell in love with the rolling pastures of green grass, the gently grazing cows nearly and the crystal clear blue sky. As we walked around the little chapel and the slightly larger original chapel-turned-into-smaller-reception-room, we knew that our search was over, we had found our perfect venue.

How we experienced Slipperfields' service:

They went beyond the call of duty from day one. They were friendly, organised and on the the ball. Jana was excited and extremely helpful, I never felt anxious, everything was organised. Jana warned me that she already had a wedding to attend on the date we wanted to book for, but not too worry Mrs Rademeyer and another wedding co-ordinator were there on the day. Both Melanie from Impeccablem and Mrs Rademeyer were there for our every need, it was amazing.
